Drucker: Five Principles of Effective Leadership
This course synthesizes some of Drucker’s foundational ideas, shows how leading organizations have operationalized them, and provides actionable takeaways for higher-level managers and executives.
Learners have three ways of approaching this course depending on their needs: they can take the course as presented, they can read the transcript of the course, or they can listen to the course entirely. The latter two methods are obviously less than ideal as they remove the learner’s ability to interact with the content, losing the value of a tailored learning experience. However, we want executives, often short on time, to be able to, at a minimum, have access to the information.

Porvoo Meal Services
Meal Coordinators for the city of Porvoo, Finland’s Meal Services, who work in kitchens serving school meals to 7- to 19-year-olds, do not have experience speaking and answering questions in front of parents. The management team has decided that Meal Coordinators must spend time explaining menus, food preparation, and service to parents. This reinforces Porvoo Meal Services’ organizational goal of being a valued partner in children’s meal education. The course is to be taught in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

Timed Development Challenge
This course was part of an assignment in my Master’s program. We, acting as designers and developers, underwent a Situated Learning experience by having to develop a course within one hour. We were provided a template and a detailed outline of what the course should contain; as a result, we were instructed to use the exact verbatim in the outline. These rigid requirements, coupled with the provided content, did not necessitate the application of all IBSTPI and AECT skills. I chose this as an exemplar for my portfolio, as it showcases my strong project management and development skills while working under a tight deadline with a tool I wasn’t entirely comfortable using, Articulate Rise, before this exercise.
