Theory behind A Needs Assessment Approach
EduCore Dynamics, a growing producer of digital educational content, face performance issues affecting project deadlines and work quality. Despite a strong creative team and a reputation for innovation, the company is experiencing delays, inconsistent output, and low morale, due to communication problems between departments. New project management software has also led to confusion rather than improved efficiency. The Learning Design department has been asked to assess whether the issues stem from insufficient training, poor communication, or broader organizational problems and to recommend solutions.

Needs Analysis final Executive report
A recent needs assessment at Forbin International’s Midwest plant uncovered both instructional and systemic challenges. Employees struggle with new machinery due to limited hands-on training, which leads to errors and safety concerns, while inconsistent adherence to safety protocols remains an issue. Additionally, communication gaps between supervisors and staff, along with low morale and unclear career paths, are impacting overall performance. To address these gaps, the plant should prioritize systemically improving communication and recognition programs, followed by targeted training on machinery operation and safety. Sequencing these different intervention types will help create a stronger foundation for lasting organizational cultural improvements.
